Terms of Use

These terms apply when you download and use the Rail Journeys of a Lifetime app on iOS or Android. By using the app you agree to them.

Your license to the content

The audio stories, text, maps, images and other content in the app are owned by us or our licensors. When you buy a journey or the Rail Journeys Pass, you get a personal, non-transferable license to enjoy that content on your own devices for as long as you like. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, publicly perform or broadcast the content, or attempt to extract or reverse engineer it.

Purchases and refunds

The app is free to download. Individual journeys and the Rail Journeys Pass are one-time in-app purchases made through Apple's App Store or Google Play — never subscriptions. Purchases are tied to your Apple or Google account and governed by that store's terms; refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their standard policies. The Pass covers every journey in the catalog, including journeys added after your purchase.

For enjoyment, not navigation

The narration is for interest and enjoyment. It is not a navigation tool, a safety device or a source of operational travel information. Stay aware of your surroundings, follow the instructions of railway staff, and keep your volume at a level where you can hear safety announcements.

Accuracy and availability

Our stories are researched and cited, but landscapes, timings and facts can change, and GPS behaves differently on different trains and terrain. Content is provided “as is”; we don't warrant that narration will be uninterrupted or error-free, and to the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties and limit our liability to the amount you paid for the content.

Independence

Rail Journeys of a Lifetime is an independent travel guide. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any railway operator. Train and route names are used to identify the journeys they describe.

Changes

We may update the app, the catalog and these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington.
